Hi, I'm Harper Donahue aka "Hue"
I gew up in Savannah, Georgia with my Grandmother (Mimi). She ruled the kitchen with a cast iron skillet and a collection of recipes written on index cards, napkins, and the backs of church bulletins.
I spent my childhood perched on a wooden stool, watching Mimi transform simple ingredients into magic; Buttermilk biscuits that could heal heartbreak or Her peach cobbler that brought neighbors to the window.
After college, I tried my hand at marketing in Atlanta, but the corporate world felt like wearing shoes that didn’t fit.
When my Mimi passed, I inherited the Victorian house my Grandfather built and I found myself back in that familiar kitchen, surrounded by mason jars full of memories and a shoebox of handwritten recipes.
That’s when I started “Hue’s” – just as a way to preserve my Grandmother’s legacy.
This website is essentially her “pinch of this” and “cook until it looks right” transformed into more approachable recipes for people who want to eat good food.
